i have a 3ft tank and a 4ft tank on the way (which i am dividing into 2) i want to breed Neolamprologus Multifasciatus.... in half the 4ft tank what is another rare type cichlid that could be bred in the other half but has the same water requirments as a multi's??

i just dont understand why these fish wont work (from the info i have read anyway)... if all the tank mates like nuteral water why is it a problem?... also why is it shown that electras are fine with shell dwellers?...big size difference i...

i have a 3ft by 2ft by 2ft tank... and have a 2ft by 18inch by 18inch on the way so i can split them up.... but will the shell dwellers be ok with the electras if the electras dont breed? i have read they are gret tank mates for eachother... but i'm not so sure?

now thats the problem....
they sold it to me as a 'rainbow cichlid' and it looks Nothing like any rainbow cichlid i've found on the net including your pic there..... it looks to me like a red horseface, but i'm not a proffessional by all means.... anything like this fish that can be mistaken as...
my LFS sold me 2 'rainbow cichlid's' and now i'm finding they kinda dont egsist.... in my searches i found it looks like a Geophagus surinamensis but not too sure can any help on the issue and HOW big they really get???.... anyone heard of a rainbow cichlid???

by the time i got up this morning all my goldfish tails where shredded and the molly was highly stressed, the rainbow cichlids were freaking out darting continously around the tank.... he had to go the poor thing... i only just bought a new tank 3 days ago ...
i bought a fish that was being severly harrased at the pet store... now i'm starting to read it may (well most probably be ) a "pseudotropheus saulosi" being the males in a dark almost midnight blue with black bands and the females were yellow... the stupid LFS ower said is was a "tangarine"...
is it really 42 gallons?
well its much bigger then i thought.....volume wise...
its a freshwater muscle... umm lives in a shell filters the tank... wont grow any quicker then i would! *laffs*... and the rainbow cichlid (as it was called in the aquarium i bought it from) grows to 4.5 inch...
i'v been told its a Geophagus sp. "Altamira"
are they available in australia?... or better still can anyone give me a profile on them.... i.e: size and if they are ok in a maixed community tank??
