    Potentially sick elizabethae?

Wethumbs, You are correct - this was a reseller. He did quarantine the fish for a week for me, but I'm sure that probably was not enough time adequately ensure fish were healthy. This is a learning experience and I will be sure not to make the same mistake again. One question - is it likely...

    Potentially sick elizabethae?

I appreciate the input. What sort of antibiotic treatment should I look into? I really don't see water quality here being an issue necessarily - I have 2 other tanks with apistos on the same water change regimen and never seen signs like this in the other fish. I received these fish less than 2...

    Potentially sick elizabethae?

Mike, I agree with you, and I'm currently working on lowering the pH with RO water, indian almond and oak leaves, and peat. It is a slower process than I first thought. Is there anything else you can think of that would help figure this out? The only disease I really have much experience with...

    Potentially sick elizabethae?

Hello all, I recently acquired 6 A. elizabethae. They seem to be doing fine (swimming fine, picking at sand, etc.) However, recently a few have developed something that I would like expert advice on. Attached are pictures of the fish. This male is behaving normally, but has what appears to...

List of fish imported from the Czech Republic.

I agree, the way they "break it down" it isn't as clear as it should be. They do sell fish by the pair on aquabid, and as far as I know, they don't sell unsexed juveniles. I've always been able to specify in my order exactly what ratio of male:female that I wanted.

List of fish imported from the Czech Republic.

I've purchased from Atlantis 3 times now. Each time I've had a great experience. This past time, I used express shipping only to have the fish come late (through the fault of USPS) during a few hot Florida days. Fish arrived in great condition. The packaging and care put into orders is great, as...

    Tank Raised Apistos

I wanna say domestic shipping is about $17 for priority. If you live in the area (NY), you can also do local pickup. I've ordered apistos from Atlantis twice and both times have been highly satisfied.

WTB A. elizabethae pair(s) - having no luck

Thanks for the tip. I checked out their website...has anyone here ordered from them before?

WTB A. elizabethae pair(s) - having no luck

Hello, My friend and I recently ordered 2 pairs of A. elizabethae from a breeder off of aquabid. I was a bit leery at first since he was located in Hawaii, but it was overnight shipping. As our luck would have it, USPS delivered the shipment a day late, by which time the 4 beautiful fish were...

    Aggression from A. macmasteri Female

Hello all, I have had a trio of A. macmasteri since October (I'll try to post a few pics below). Things went well for several months, with the fish growing larger and more colorful. Occasionally, the dominant female would chase off the other female, but no harm was done. The male and the...

Sexing Juvenile A. Agassizii Tefe Pearl Blues

Hello all. Here are a few pictures - 5/6 fish are pictured. All but the most sub-dominant fish which I believe to be a male. Picture #1: unknown sex. Picture #2: 2 unknowns - the fish in the foreground has black all the way down the ventral fin leading my to believe it is a female. Picture #3...
