I had or had something VERY similar to the A. sp. D2b come in a few years ago. The "arc" in the eye is a pretty distinct feature so I always called the sp. arc eye. A quick search didn't turn up any pictures of them. I'll have to dig more later. They were pretty undemanding and very good...
I'll upload the pics when I get back from a trip to Ohio speaking about Apistogramma at the GCAS (gcas.org) but for those of you on facebook please follow the link: https://www.facebook.com/469544756417264/photos/pcb.883191735052562/883191358385933/?type=1&theater
I'm super excited to have this...

If you do a Google image search on them there are just a handful of pics of the real deal and then A LOT of pictures of other fish including brichardi.
Linus, I think we are talking about 2 different tetras. There are a lot of tetras that come out of the Congo. I think you are referring to A. brichardi and the 4 or 5 species that come in under that name.
Here is a better picture of the dominate female in the tank of 4pr. These guys are doing very well on frozen silver sides a few times a week and baby brine shrimp. Now to fatten up the next batch of pikes and get an ID, they came in as cf. notophalmus (no location again).
Those would be the Phenacogrammus aurantiacus “Blue eyed Congo tetra" but they are dropping like mad. They came in with burned fins and many were down right away. If any make it I'll be surprised. The rest of the order is doing very well though.
