I had posted some questions about my Java Ferns that were dying a few post ago.
Now, some of my Amazon's leaves are kinda turning yellow and have tiny holes throughout the leaf.
It almost seems like fertilizer burns or something in the water that is doing this.
I do water changes each...
Here goes the on-going debate;
California Blackworms have been studied and discussed at great lengths on Simplydiscus.com. They come from;
Http://aquaticfoods.com/worms.html
The source has had worms sent for analysis for pathogens and cleared and MANY discus breeders and hobbist swear...
it's a translucent brown, not the type or color that the plant turns as it produces babies. And as I mentioned, it starts to turn at the place that the stem meets the root, verses starting at the tip.
Thanks...it is attached to wood and has attached itself to it. I will trim the dying part and watch it I guess.
Thanks for your help, any other thoughts?
HUMM, let's see, I have had them about 3-4 months, they get about 8-10 hours of fluorescent lighting a day......they seem to be dying in patches from the root up the leaf, if that makes scense.
Thanks for your help.
Oh, one other question, should I cut the dying clumps out?
I have three tanks that have java Fern and anubas and amazon swords. I started using Kent Freshwater Plantfood about 3 weeks ago according to directions. My Java ferns are dying in patches. The only thing I can think of is the plantfood. My ph is 6.0 - 5.5, water changes 30% per week, GH/KH...
Hello all. I have had my females lay eggs 3-4 times in clay flower pots turned on their side.
Mama stands guard, but night falls and the next day, the eggs are gone.
I have some catfish and dwarf albino plecos in the tank along with my apistos.
So, it's obvious that someone is eating...
I know I asked this question before, but I'm a bit dense I guess.
My guys eat primary daphnia, brine shrimp, blood worms and a SMALL bit of pellets.
If they are on a frozen food diet primarly, we they be OK?
OK, I'm using Kent Freshwater Plantfood. My tanks are doing well.
I was at a lfs and the guy insisted that I add Seachem's Flourish Excel.
It is an organic carbon source.........what do you think??
I think I know
I think 2la was right. The new leaf's tips were darker then the rest of the leaf. They slowly lighten and match the rest of the leave. I'm not 100% sure it's the O2 in the leaf or nutrients I've added, but they are better. Any other thoughts?
I have some new Java Ferns growing in my apisto tanks. Some of the leaves (both new and old) tips seem to be translucent (or darkening sort of). Ph is 6.0, hardness is a GH/KH of 3-4. Water changes every week, 30%. Seachum plant fertilizer, 50% of directed amount.
Not dying or...
Knowing that a varied diet is best, what is the best and easiest way to hatch your own brine shrimp?
Are there any special set-ups that you can buy? If yes, where?
If the baby hatchings are not big enough for juveniles and adults....what do you recommend?
Thanks folks!
