    it's a translucent brown, not the type or color that the plant turns as it produces babies. And as I mentioned, it starts to turn at the place that the stem meets the root, verses starting at the tip.

    HUMM, let's see, I have had them about 3-4 months, they get about 8-10 hours of fluorescent lighting a day......they seem to be dying in patches from the root up the leaf, if that makes scense. Thanks for your help. Oh, one other question, should I cut the dying clumps out?

    Food Question

    I know I asked this question before, but I'm a bit dense I guess. My guys eat primary daphnia, brine shrimp, blood worms and a SMALL bit of pellets. If they are on a frozen food diet primarly, we they be OK?

    Java Fern Tips

    I think I know I think 2la was right. The new leaf's tips were darker then the rest of the leaf. They slowly lighten and match the rest of the leave. I'm not 100% sure it's the O2 in the leaf or nutrients I've added, but they are better. Any other thoughts?

    Good News? Well, the one that seemed to have it, never died in the tank and was removed. There "may" have been another one that looked like it might have some discoloration and ALL of the neons have been removed. So, I'm hopeful that this won't be an issue any more! :(
