Presentation and advice or a 175 gallons

Hello! If you take rainbows, kribs and the rest of the fish on the list, then you will have fish from three different continents: Oseania, Africa and S-America. I think it is not a good idea. If I were you I would not mix apistos and kribs (so I'd forget about kribs). I also wouldn't take...

    Literature

I have Hans J. Mayland's and Dieter Bork's book and I just got yesterday Römer's book. I have been very happy with my first apistobook. It gives a lot of good and concrete advices on different species because all the text seem to be based on the authors' own experiences. The book has great...

    Keeping Dwarf Cichlids

There are at least three color morphs of A. borellii, and in my opinion, opal is the most beautiful even when compared to all Apistogrammas. Michael, I recommend you to try to find these. Male has a shiny blue color and a red face. here are my fish...

Amano shrimp good idea for Apisto Tank?

Yes, but apistos can cause problems. My A. pertensis just can't resist the idea of teasing my amano shrimp whenever the shrimp is in its sight :( Pertensis also regards tiny pygmy corys as its enemy. Weird fish.

    Cichlid company for apistos

Thank you for your advices. I think that I'll take a trio of cacatuoides. I already have borelliis (and pertensis) in my two smaller tanks with lower ph. We have quite many Apistogramma species available here in Finland, the most common are borellii, cacatuoides and agassizii, then...

    Cichlid company for apistos

Which would make better company for apistos, Anomalochromis thomasi or Laetacara dorsigerus? I'm going to give up either of them and add some apistos instead to my 47.2 x 21.7 x 16.1 inches (121x55x41 cm) tank. Ph is quite high, 7,2. Which apistogramma species do you recommend? Can I take...

    Help with Apisto ID?

Thanks for your comments! Iniridae is the best guess so far. My fish looks like exactly the same as fishes in these pictures: http://www.characin.com/carey/species/cichlid/apistos/a_iniridae.html http://www.cichlidae.be/Apistogramma_iniridae.htm. For sure, the fish belong to pertensis...
