I purchased a couple of pairs of triple red Cacatuoides on the internet and received them yesterday. I bought them from an individual based on a picture of the pair. I originally just purchased the pair in this picture and confirmed that this is the "exact" pair I was going to purchase. They looked so good, I told them to add a second pair. As you can see in the picture they have strong yellow coloring. When I received them yesterday their color was bright red versus the yellow in the picture. I will have to take some pictures after work tonight as my battery on the camera has to recharge. I emailed the seller and inquired about the color. He said it may be the stress of the fish or the difference in our coloring.
I looked at the fish this morning and they are still red. Can their coloring truly be that different? I know a picture right now would help (sorry), but for anyone with fish that have strong yellow coloring, as seen in these pictures, do they ever look red under stress or in various lighting? I am simply having a hard time believing the colors would vary that much. I saw them in natural light and in my aquarium (6500K bulbs) and they both look very red.
