Just looking for some help on a ID this pair were in the same batch as my alacrina"paratype" and Apistogramma sp. "Schwarzkehl"

Mike just wondering could they be Apistogramma hongsloi because the male is not showing any spot on the base of the tale like most macmasteri do

I don't think it is A. hongsloi because the male shows a zigzag lateral band, diagnostic for macmasteri-complex species. Hongsloi-complex species show a ladder/lattice lateral band. That being said, the photos of the male are not really good enough to provide a positive identification. They show very few dark markings needed for identification.
