I managed to get a half decent shot of one of my irvinei.
I'm still learning about this species, I don't know whether this one is a male or a female. I guess I'll find out eventually!
I really like the orange on the pectoral, the blue on the lip (not easy to see from this angle) and the fine black line on the dorsal. I hadn't even spotted that before taking the picture.
Just pleased to have a species you only ever see in books and make it my third blockhead species. I've bred casuarius and tinanti, fingers crossed for these:

nice fish how big does the lump on the males head gets im hopins to get some block heads 4 xmas.PS: where did u gel your pelv 'blue fin' from

I don't expect this species to get a large hump, maybe just a "pad" on the head.
The P. "blue fin" were from the BCA auction.

Thats a very impressive fish but not as humpy as S. casuarius

By the way, I think that I am one of only three people keeping S. irvinei in the UK. Nice to see they are available in France.

Hi again!,

I was just wondering if anyone has spawned this species and what their experiences were.
My group have grown on quite well but I don't see any pairs forming yet.
What should I expect to see?
