Just showing this colour variation. Also noting that unlike the domestic kribs i had these require some bbs for successful fry raising. The domestic ones (simply sold as kribs without a species name) did not require any special feeding:

That change was revised in 2014. It's P. taeniatus and P. kribensis separately again. But I can imagine the confusion this still causes in labelling.

They were sold as Pelvicachromis kribensis but who knows what they are these days.

Kribs (the common name) will always be P. pulcher to me.

I suspect it extend past that in common context of usage for most people but my suspicious nature might be proven wrong.

Hum. Seems they were renamed p. pulcher at some point but who knows what the critters are above or if the name gods will come around at some point and give them new species name - either way they are more tame then the domestic ones i had before (they were the traditional red/white sort); and require bbs to raise their young oh and my eyes as they maybe much more lovely all three points i consider important to myself after all this means i don't have to worry about each spawns adding ton of additional fishes to the aquarium and i can be a bit more selective

Common Kribs (Pv. pulcher) and Pv. kribensis are 2 very different species from 2 different locations. Way, way in the past Pv. pulcher was erroneously called "kribensis" in the hobby, probably because they were originally exported from the port at Kribi, Cameroon. The scientific community has always considered them 2 different valid species AFAIK, but in the aquarium hobby Pv. pulcher became known as "Pelmatochromis kribensis" - and the confusion still remains to this day, it seems.
