Very likely, yes. That site only has a stocklist, pictures would clarify the question easily.

I'm pretty sure many of them have not only been sold as M. sp "Zweifleck" but also simply as A. altispinosus and that there is a not too small number of hybrids out there as well.
So the species is not that new, but now it's officially described and has previously probably not been identified at all in many cases.
Question is, though, whether the description is going to hold up in peer review.

Yes, M. sp. "Zweipunkt", the original name given for the undescribed species, is the same as the 2 above translations of the German.

Since it was published in the Journal of Fish Taxonomy, then it already has been peer reviewed, meets the minimum standards of the ICZN and accepted.
