In my opinion A. baenschi is a primitive member of the nijsseni-complex of the nijsseni-group. The most closely related species is A. sp. Harlekin/Harlequin/Urias/Hi-fin 'Panduro'. I have never heard of the name 'Gold Panda'/'Zwilling 2' before, but I suspect that it is the same species as the Harlequin.

Although males of A. sp. Zwilling/Twin/Hifin 'Nijsseni' (2) look much like A. nijsseni (thus, the name 'Twin'), the females are much more similar to females of A. payaminonis. For this reason I suggested that Southern Aquatics, who first sold them in the US, to sell them as A. cf. payaminonis (Peru). I have them in my payaminonis-complex of the nijsseni-group.

I am not certain what you have. They look like A. sp. Zwilling/Twin, but Zwilling has slightly extended dorsal fin spines, similar to wild A. macmasteri. Your fish could be young Zwilling or something new.

Thanks Mike.
The fish in the link, according to the taiwanese aqua magazine, is a fish
similar to (but different from) Zwilling. So, they just give it a name of
"Gold Panda" and the english name is simply an "A. Sp. Aff. Nijsseni"...

I myself got a pair of Zwilling last year, and it;s different from the one
shown in the link...
