I purchased a pair of "Apistogramma Agassizi 'Blue'" from my LFS several months ago but unfortunately the female passed away a few months ago so I am looking to find my male another partner. I have attached a picture of the male below since I have come to learn there are a lot of color morphs out there & 'blue' is an ambiguous term for a few. If there is a specific ID (location of collection or anything) on the subspecies of my apisto agassizi that would greatly appreciated as well.

You're not too far from thatpetplace.com in Lancaster PA? Why not try there? Or that place formerly Captain Nemos (now Natural Pet?) by the King of Prussia mall? I got mine from the Amazon basement in York PA when Bev came to the PVAS meeting in DC (their website doesn't seem to be working,, but here's their twitter account: http://twitter.com/AmazonBasement)

Im about 45 minutes from thatpetplace (that's where I got the L129s (sold as L66)), but they don't have apisto agassizi on their website, I guess I could try emailing them. I already emailed the LFS I got the pair from, but no response. I I'll try emailing/tweeting the other stores too. & in response to your question i forgot to answer on the introductions thread. No i didn't go down to the Catfish Convention, I had already had plans that weekend.

Your male appears to be a domestic strain of red A. agassizii. Domestic strains of red A. agassizii are a mix of many different populations and even forms of A. agassizii. I guess you could pick up any red aggie female as a replacement.

Hi,

just in case you happen to live in Germany (or Netherlands): I have a wildcaught female A. psammophila, you could have it for free. I have no use for it anymore.
