N. America WTB: A pair of Hongsloi

I've been keeping aquariums for most of my life now and wanted to get a pair of apistos, and after a lot of research I've decided to get a pair of Hongsloi. Do any of you have a pair of Hongsloi or know where I could purchase a pair at a reasonable price?

On Aquabid most Apistos I see being sold were not sexed or came from retailers who had a lot of mixed reviews, and a reasomable price to me would be $25-30 a pair

Truthfully, I don't think your requirements are unreasonable. I do think that the problem is that most wild adult specimens come from commercial sources that don't always get the sexes right. Domestic bred specimens from more knowledgeable hobbyists/breeders are usually sold young, maybe too young for getting the sexes right sometimes. I'm afraid your best bet is to go to a regional/national fish convention, like the ACA in Louisville this year or the NEC in your neck of the woods next year, and see what's available and pick your own. That's what I do, if I don't go collect them myself.

I'll probably just wait a while because a new fish shop is opening up a town over and the guy who owns it has done research in the Amazon, so I'm sure he'll know what he's doing, plus they said that they'll be stocking apistos.
