Will apisto pebas hybrid with apisto inka50?

Hi, I m thinking of mixing a a pair of inka50 and a pair of
Pebas. Will they hybrid with each other? If not I will mix them. Thanks!

I tried a pair of each in a 30 gal breeder tank and found my Inca's on the floor almost lost them. I had another 30 gal. ready just in case. Both pairs bred a week later.

The 2 species are very different (2 different species-lineages). I highly doubt that you will see them cross breed.

Thank you very much for the advices. I read somewhere which states the female apistos are more interested in the bigger male. So the species with the smaller male might not breed with its own kind. Will try out Thank you!

out of interest, how big do the Inka grow to?

I have no idea but given the right conditions they can grow quite big I guess. I said this because I have seen a 4-5 inch apisto caca triple red... I thought they stop at max 3 inches but was wrong

Could you suggest some smaller sp of apistos? Are there any that dont grow much over an inch?

There are no cichlid species that only grow to 1 inch, including smaller shell-dwellers. The smallest apisto species are A. wapisana and A. angayuara. Both grow to about 3.5 cm/1½".

-Apistogramma diplotaenia
-Apistogramma pauciquamis
