Are wild rams blue Ram? My local LFS has a tank of young wild caught ram, owners says they are better than farm rams, I love german blue ram just wondering what's the difference
Rams are bred for the "blue" and "gold" coloration they have on their bodies. However a wild ram will usually display more variety of colors, IME. Right now I have a pretty yellow form of wild ram where most of the body, 3/4's is bright yellow. The rest of the fish is mostly blue and red though. Honestly, the wild rams are probably a better buy gentically. The tank bred ones have been inbred too much for the most part. Some people are trying to cross back wild to domestic now. Certainly a step in the right direction if you ask me.
