Hi folks. I have 2 female and 1 male cacatuoides. He's beautifully coloured but has a big wart on his caudal fin. Anyway, I notice a lot of posts across various fish keeping forums about folk getting a different variety than they ordered. I had this issue with some emperor tetras I purchased. One was a male nematobrycon palmeri and the other five were all inpaicthys kerri. There were marked differences i.e shape of caudal fin and a small adipose fin on the kerri which the palmeri doesn't have. The odd one was very aggressive so I took him back to the lfs where I got him and yes... they did swap him for the correct fish but when I told the owner about the differences and the mislabelled tank she argued with me that they were the same species. Shame she's so stubborn. The shop is great but makes you wonder about the people who own these places. My best purchases come from a site called tropco in the UK. I don't know if they ship to Europe but it's worth asking. Their stock is always healthy and they use a special delivery service for livestock. They even put bags with hot water and heat packs in. They have a good selection and their gallery shows a stunning warehouse with hundreds of spotless tanks. Amazing place and my go to for online livestock.
