I have had the pair since the summer of this year and as of recent they have began digging a sort of pit under thier coconut cave but don't seem to be laying any kind of eggs ? If someone could give me any tips or hints to point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated .

Make sure
- the water is right (should be soft, slightly acidic, low TDS/conductivity)
- the tank is right (not too small, approx 1 sqft bottom area per fish)
- the decor is right (there should be plenty of cover, hiding spots for the fish to get away from each other)
- there is not too much current
- the temperature is right (above 24C; temp can also influence sex ratio in fry)
- you actually have male and female

Sometimes rearranging the decor can help if they are not happy in the tank.
If nothing helps you may have to invest in some Tom Jones CDs. :)
