What agassizii?

I bought a pair of these and they were labelled only as 'apistos'.

It is simply A. agassizii. Well, to be more specific it is the same form as the type specimen, but your fish could come from anywhere in the Peruvian Amazon & Brazilian Solimões drainage. A. agassizii is highly polychromatic & different color morphs live together in the same stream. Unless it comes with a reputable geographic name attached to it, it is simply A. agassizii.
