viajita II

Hy everybody!!
I reacently put up a 250l\70g aquarium with 15 A. Viajita and 80 nanostumus marginatus, th ewater parameters are : pH-6.5, 15 ppm tds.
does anyone have any expirience with Viajita?
anything will be helpfull..

I think you mean A. viejita "II", which is probably cross-breed between real A. viejita and A. macmasteri. By the way, I think that 80 N. marginatus is a bit to big amount of "dither fish" in Apistogramma tank...

As Piotr (PeterK) said, you probably have the more colorful domestic form of A. viejita II. The true A. viejita is extremely rare in aquariums. Your water conditions are very good for either form. I do feel that 15 apistos in a 250L tank is too many. This species is rather territorial. Each fish should have a territory of their own that is at least 30 cm in diameter.

Studies by Römer & Beisenherz indicate that a temperature around 26ºC/79ºF will produce spawns with roughly equal numbers of both sexes. If you want more females, lower the temperature by 2ºC/4ºF. If you want more males, raise the temperature by 2ºC/4ºF.

30 ppm is perfectly fine for this species.
