Well to my surprise (somewhat), my new male German Ram spawned with a female on the 24th. Then my Bolvian Rams spawned in their seperate tank on the 25th. Unfortunately, both males ate the eggs, after a period of aggressively protecting them. :(

The Bolivian male and female began a very vicious fight when the male began eating the eggs. I seperated him as a result, only to find the remainder of the eggs eaten the following day by the female.

I'm thinking of removing both parents from the tank after they spawned, however I'm wondering how successful that would be for both the Bolivians and Germans. Any suggestions? Do many of you use Meth. Blue?

my experience with the bolivians was the same the first time
they progressively got better and now i hvae about 50 1-2 cm young growing out

i'd say just give them time and practice
mine spawned every 10-14 days whilst eating egg's or losing fry

Always had problems with my Rams spawning :( They always ate the eggs...

Had some nice spawns over the hollidays!!

A week before christmas, my A. sp. winkelfleck spawned, were out for christmas.
As of now, I've got some free swimming A. macmasteri, A. atahualpa. Will be showing up real soon some A. cacatuoides (wild type), A. piauiensis, A. agassizi blue streak, A. eunotus.
My A. iniridae are showing good signs of spawning in the near future!!

They're at it again!

German Rams spawning again. Frisky little guys. I think I'll have to setup a little 10G or something for them and then take care of the eggs, minus the parents. I'll try and follow Don's article as closely as possible and see what results I can come up.
