Greetings all. I picked up a batch of A. Macmasteri from one of the LFSs earlier this week and I now have one that makes me wonder if it truely is what it's supposed to be. It has the markings of what I've seen of other pictures of this particular species in the forums. But one truely odd thing I notice about the little fish is he/she has vertical stripings down the length of the body. They are almost shadowed. I worry as the LFS that I got it from doesn't really know their back side from a hole in the ground and will mix species that really don't belong together (ie. neon tetras with angels). I think from my knowledge of sexing fish in the past that it is a female. I will get a pic up as soon as I can.
Update: the horizontal stripe running along the body is fading there is a large spot in the middle and one at the base of the tail the more i look at it i think I may have picked up a convict or something similar its still smaller then the apistogrammas but it's definately going in the solitary tank for now until I am more certain.
