Think My Apisto Red Tails have Spawned

Yesterday I came home from work to find my male apisto chasing all the fish away from the female, who kept trying to fit herself underneath a rock, it was very strange behavior. Then she kept flashing the male and rubbing up against him and then the rock again. I put a small clay pot in the tank (29 gallon planted) and faced it toward the back and made sure it had lots of cover. Sure enough the male and female disapeared for a good 15 minutes. After that, he was out and about but the female has been sticking close to that flower pot now since then and she'll chase off anyone who goes near it!

I'm just going to leave well enough alone and hope for the best. It would be such a treat to see the female come out in a few days with a bunch of fry to parade around the tank. Wish me luck!

After 2 days of guarding the clay pot, the female is now out and about in the tank, so whatever was going on in the pot, has stopped, could she have eaten the eggs if there were in deed eggs there? Also, the male is back to chasing her again, rather than her chasing him as she was the past 3 days.

Can anyone with experience with apisto's shed any light on this? I read that it's a good idea to leave a light on at night near the side of the tank where the female and eggs might be, to make her feel more secure. I couldn't find a a light to use and I am curious as to whether or not I should for future use.
