I could use some advice on what to do with my very aggressive male cockatoo. Three weeks ago he and the female spawned. And that's when the problems began. I know they can become quite aggressive but this is crazy.
After a week the female cockatoo died and he took over watching the fry - about 15 of them. And he became very territorial.
The guppies had babies two days ago and the cockatoo upped his game. He doesnt chase the baby fish but the grown ups. He chases them, bites them, not just when they get too close, but he follows them around the tank. I think he even killed of one of them, it died anyway. He's really mean and making all the other fish stressed. I think he killed one ancistrus as well - it's been missing for a few days now.
What should I do? Will he calm down once the baby cockatoos are getting bigger? When will that be? Does he need a new wifey? I'd rather not buy a new one considering all the babies. I don't have another tank where I could move him either.
