tank mates

A pair of apistos are my main fish. I was wondering if a small school of cories (3-5) would be ok for my 55g. . Or, I would like to add a little more with some interesting/colorful tankmates, in addition to the cories (if they are a good choice) that would still be compatible. Don't want to overload the tank though.

1 pr Apistos
9 rummy nose
1 baby BN pleco
1 pr mollies
3 mystery snails

Morning Storm,

I would suggest, as you already have a pleco, to add some Otos. I would suggest 4-5 for your tank. They are very interactive, freindly, small and eat algae as well. That is providing you have a good planted tank. I myself find that corries tend to compete with the caves and hiding spots of the apistos, but that is just my thought. I would also increase the rummy nose to 14-15, they just look great in a school. The redder the head, the better the quality of the water as well. Otherwise good fish selection. Cheers jk :biggrin:
