Steel blue? Anyone got photos?

I think i just bought a 'steel blue', it was being kept in a tank at the petshop with Jewel cichlids, Lumphead, and another couple africans
He looked quite threatened so i bought him home to my community tank.

He was sold as borelli, but i have heard that this store sells steel blue as borelli.

So can someone post some pics of their steel blues to help me identify?

Also What species of female will keep him happy?

Thanks

If you do a search on here you'll find lots of pictures of Steelblues. Now, if you've got a male, you just need to a much more elusive females!

Hi welcome to the forum..Ideally you need to find a female steelblue to match with your male, if you cannot find one please do not try and create a hybrid by giving him a different female from another species!!
Below are pictures of both male and female Apistogramma sp 'Steelblue' in my tanks, there is also a link to youtube where i have lots of Apisto videos..Steelblue included.

Cant find any females, and im not intending on breeding them,
I just thought that apistos were happier in pairs, And if i did get a female, and if they did breed, They wouldnt be removed from my community tank, let alone my house.

So, since i cant find a Steel blue female, should i leave him by himself? Or get him a female borelli or similar or 2, or 3 only to keep him happy?

He'll be fine on his own. They don't need to be kept as a pair. He'll still defend his own territory in the hope a female will swim along one day!

Ok, thanks. Will still lookout for a female, but i dont know my chances.
Hes in a 300L tank with a footprint of 1metre by 50cm
and the plan was actually to have a pair of panduro, but i saw him in the shop(impulse buy)
So could i still have a pair of panduro?
