Hi
It looks like my cacatouides had spawned. Unfortunatelly the eggs look pale and not dark red...
What should I do now?

Apistogramma cacatuoides eggs

Hello Zahi,

What should you do now? Get some fry food! Not all Apistogramma eggs are red.

Good luck!

bbs or microworms, both. they won't need food until they are freeswimming, that is when the yolk sac is consumed. Usually you can start the bbs when wigglers are seen.

Should I leave the parents?
Does the mother have to stay with the eggs or should she "travel" in all the tank?

DocZahi

are they in a breeding tank or community tank... and as long as they're there... leave them... at least the mother... Cacatuoides are great parents, but as most Apistos, the female can be a little bit aggressive towards the male. good luck

I would leave the parents, until they prove they are not good parents. If they prove to be good parents, you will have the best situation possible.
