South America Exporters

Hello, I'm looking for a reliable and reputable exporter of Apistogrammas and Oscars from South America. I have'nt had any luck finding anyone in the U.S. that will ship to me in Hawaii. Instead of paying the inflated prices for just a few fish that may even arrive D.O.A. I would rather spend the same amount for a few hundred fish and toss in the $100 for an agricultural import permit, since I would be spending $40 otherwise for a 1-time permit on a U.S. order anyway. Also primarily because I have'nt found anyone on the market with South American wild Oscars or anyone with Apistos in the U.S. that ships to Hawaii. Thanks in advance. PM me.

$100 for an agricultural permit? You are thinking plants... A wildlife permit costs $125, plus another $125 fee per order. I do not know of any exporters of wild fish from SA who are willing to export less than a shipment of 100 kg, which works out to between 10-15 boxes. Depending upon species, the number of fish per box will range from 50 - 200 fish.

The best way to find fish exporters is to do a search for the name of the country you are looking for and 'tropical fish export". Doing that for Peru, for example, turns up all the major export companies.
