sexing young fish

have managed to find about 8 young bitaeniata from a pswan before i left and was hoping for size that they should be sexable and most obvious features

also some 1.5cm fresia , again interested in the most obvious features and the size's these will be visible

and lastly (possibly harder) some 6 steelblue's only about 1cm long at present and even the adult male has the black leading edge on his ventral, any other tips or features

I don't even try to sex my fish until they are about 3 cm long. At this size A. bitaeniata males start to develop a squared-off tail with some markings. The same probably will work for A. ermopyge. Regani-group fish like your Steel-blues will definitely take a little more time before sex differences appear.
