Hi folks ,
Thought id join here as im back to keeping and breeding apistos after a long break with other fish.
Now my last pair of apisto.ca had a obvious female so when i recived this in a pair i say its male others say female .
So can i have a experts eye please
Female domestic color strains often look like males. If the fish is <1.5in./3.5cm SL then it could be either. If >2.5"/6.5cm then it's more likely to be a male.
Cheers guys its only 3.5cm +/- .5 at the moment there is a little bit of flairing from my male towatds "it" but no nipping or the like and this one just sits there or carrys on like hes not there . Ive caught mate tail slapping it a few times. No real aggrestion so guess ill have to wait .I do know these are fresh imported bloodstock to nz so may explain the diff too
