Rotpunkt, wilhelmi apistos.

I recently acquired a male and 3 female rotpunkt and the same in the wilhelmi. A friend had them all in a tank together. I want to separate into 2, 15 gal aquariums. Anyone have any info on the females of these so I can separate them. Thanks

The female Wihelmi will be long and slender with a horizontal band going from head to tail like a female Aggasizzi and the female Rotpunkt will be more of white color with a dotted horizontal band. The body shape of the female Rotpunkt will be more similar to the male and when they are young can be a bit difficult to the sexes apart.

Does anyone have any good photos of both sexes of these fish. I am having a hard time differentiating the two. They are all just a grey color with black bars along the body.

Be sure to look for info on the wilhelmi as A. sp. "Abacaxis"

You should also consider how your young fish interact. Each species male will display to it's species females while ignoring or driving away those males and females of another species. These behaviors should be observable among quite young adolescents.
