Good day, I currently have 5 females and 1 male in my Cacatuoides tank. Would you recommend another ratio or would you keep one pair only to trigger breeding further?

Hi all,

You should be fine as a harem if you have enough floor space in the tank. You need about a square foot (30 x 30cm) for each female, and an area (without a cave) where the male can rest without being harassed. A harem is really interesting, the females will interact, steal fry from each other etc. try and usurp better territories etc.

cheers Darrel

OK great, I think the space is not enough at this stage. I will move the excess females and leave two in for now :). Appreciate it!!!
