It is a species of the orgeagi-subcomplex but I have my doubts that they are the true A. orteagai. I'd be more comfortable about an ID if I could see more photos of the female in dominance or brood dress, or even of the male showing a stress pattern.

I agree with Mike and in addition I have doubts that the second fish is in fact a female...

I think you have two males. The caudal patch of the smaller one looks more like that to be expected from A. cf. ortegai (Pebas) to me. However, the general problem with ortegai-subcomplex species is that there are many mixed forms (=hybrids) in the hobby (even wild caught specimens due to deliberate faunal bastardization), so that in most cases it's impossible to be 100% sure what "type" a certain specimen in fact is anyway.

What Frank wrote. I wouldn't be certain unless I collected them myself from the Quebrada Paucaryacu, in the Middle Río Ampiyacu. I wonder if it is still cocaine country and not safe to enter??

I have a pair of ortagai and I think you have too.…this image is of the male. The female looks about the same as yours.
I can’t get them to breed however.

The dominant male became aggressive towards the second one and bit off her tail. I moved her to a separate tank. Now I think she's a female:

I have a pair of Ortegai I too. The female is terrified of the male and hides even when I feed them.
I’ve had them fur about 9 months and I don’t think it’s likely they’ll mate.

It is a male, but probably either A. cf. orteagai (Pebas) or a hybrid of the 2 species. It also has re-grown an abnormally small caudal fin.
