I made the mistake of going to lfs today. they got in some A. Norberti.
I haven't found a lot of info on this type of apisto. I was wondering how big the males get? one site said 1.9" and another 2.75"
i read that females have a black spot, does it start as a black line and become a spot or will it always be a black spot?

The 2¾"/7cm is closer to the truth. I believe that the spot that is mentioned is the black patch on the soft part of the dorsal fin, which is diagnostic for the species. All apisto species, except members of the regani-group, show a dark lateral spot at some time or other.
