New Tank GBR & Apisto

Im about to set up a 25 gal planted tank.
With a GBR male and female, Sunset Gourami, and 4 glowlight tetras id like to replace. Im about to add 2 or 3 apistos.

The gourami is currently the king of the tank but the lfs told me that the apistos would kill him.

How should i go about setting this tank up?

I would not recommend all of those fish in a 25 gallon tank. The Apistogramma and GBR will fight, and the gourami may end up dead as well. The GBRs like it hotter than either species can tolerate long-term, so that's another issue. If you want Apistogramma, I'd remove the rams.

What about 2 blue rams, 2 gold rams, and 1 apisto? I also thought about a Bolivian as the 5th fish.

Too many (territorial) cichlids IMHO.
