Hi, im originally from england but now living in ireland.
Got my first apistos this week, agassizi, borelli and hongosli. they are all in there own 100liter tanks with a mix of R/O and tap through a peat filter which gives me a kh2 and a ph of 5.8
will the above species breed in these water conditions? i have bred blue rams in this.
i have a trio of each fish.
Also does anyone no of any breeders of different species in ireland or that can post from uk?
many thanks.

Morning Jamie,

From the other side of the world, welcome to this forum. Sound like you have a good setup for the apistos. Most fish will adapt to water conditions and yours sound fine. I keep mine at 6.1ph and they also thrive. If your Rams are going gang busters, then the apistos will follow. I presume you have 1M and 2F in your trio set up. This is also perfect. Again lots of caves, dwellings, etc for them to hide. Oak leaves are also good for water perameters and breeding, but they must be the leaves that have fallen off the tree.
I am sure you will get replies from the Irish members from whom you can optain LFS .
Have fun and post some photos soon. cheers jan-kurt

Sounds like great set ups for your Apistos. There a few guys on here who sell Apistos in the UK and they may be able to help you. Peter Lovett (Dwarf Cichlid.co.uk) and Biddulph Aquatics are two that spring to mind.

You might also want to look at Trimar or Tropical Fish Finder as they both have websites where you can get fish online. Not sure about getting them to Ireland though I'm afraid.
