Need help sexing Laetacara Araguaiae

Hi all,

Title is self explanatory, Im looking for some assistance sexing a Laetacara Araguaiae that I have. Ive originally thought it was a female, but starting to doubt it based on behavior and physical characteristics as it has gotten older. My own research seems to indicate it being a bit less clear in this species than the other laetacara I keep (Thayeri, Curviceps).,

It looks like a male to me. Have you been able to compare it with other specimens?

Unfortunately no. I had purchased it solo at my LFS and it was thee only L. Araguaiae left. And haven't seen any since then. Unlike my Thayeri and Curviceps which ive been able to directly compare males and females.

The difference in fully grown adults is very apparent. Males are substantially larger with nuchal humps. In my stock, however, there was never much difference in fin length between the sexes.

Where are you based? I've seen this species posted on FB recently by two stores near me here in the UK. Wharf Aquatics in Nottinghamshire and Ferrybridge Aquatics in Yorkshire. They probably still have them available if you're seeking more.
