Does anyone know what aquatic arthropod/inveterbrates are naturally found in the amazon basin?
or of any that may live well in soft waters

You need to dig up a copy of Michael Goulding's "Rio Negro: Rich Life in Poor Water". It lists this kind of thing for the Negro. There are many different crabs, shrimps, copapods and other invertebrates that inhabit the Amazon basin, not to mention all of the aquatic insect larvae. If you find a copy, I'd like to have one, too.
