Patick,

Please be sure to buy Tefé females. Your "A. agassizii" is not A. agassizii, but a different, closely related species called A. sp. Tefé or A. sp. aff. agassizii Tefé. It can be bred with A. agassizii females, but the spawns are small and offspring will show deformed scales, especially on the posterior half of the body & on the caudal peduncle (see Römer's Cichlid Atlas, p.255, bottom). Adults from such crosses almost always are infertile.

not sure if you figured it out yet.....
Judging from the finnage, it appears that your M. Altispinosa would be a Male. Note the trailing red on the tail fin. Females don't have that feature.

Hi Patrick, Good fish! Do feed the male A. sp. Tefe more as it looks a bit thin. Plus, do get a female Tefe for it :)

Re-designing and starting a new fish room all over again. This time we'll have many more Apistsogramma species. We are expanding.

Hi,

just in case you happen to live in Germany (or Netherlands): I have a wildcaught female A. psammophila, you could have it for free. I have no use for it anymore.
