Misidentified as elizabethae

My local fish store got these in recently. Unfortunately the entire batch appear to be male, but I'm curious what species they might be in case I can source females, as these fish are quite nice looking.

I would estimate they are about 5 to 6cm.

They were brought in as elizabethae, but definitely don't look like them.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

This is my male a. sp bluketa displaying:

a_lineta.jpg

He has virtually no colour but his off springs were very colourful esp in the throat with range from deep red to orangy orange. None of his off springs have the face colouring seen in your pictures but some have a bit of blue on the dorsal fins. Sadly i gave away the most colourful males to someone who lost them.

While colour is not a species trait the full body colouring is a bit concerning as to whether it is the same species.

Yes, on many apisto species color can be rather variable. This is why at times I take a photo, convert it to black and white and increase the contrast so I can view the diagnostic pattern of dark markings. I will agree with Frank on this one, they are both specimens of A. sp. Blutkehl/Cutthroat (sic A. sp. Bluketa;)).

Re-designing and starting a new fish room all over again. This time we'll have many more Apistsogramma species. We are expanding.
