can anyone confirm/deny the crossbreeding of Mikrogeophagus Altispinosus (or similar sp. forms) with M. ramirezi?

someone suggested they could be x-bred, although I don't suspect it. I also heard of some other experiments like those, none confirmed.
My first impression when I saw the fish (knowing nothing about dwarfs) was that M. altispinosus would be closer to Biotodoma sp. than M. ramirezi. What does science say about this genus now?
