Hey guys,

Can anyone help me figure out what these guys are ? I have 5 females and 1 male. They were sold to me as Viejitas.

Any ideas?

Here is a picture of my Viejita. I contacted the importer and he said he did in fact get these, they are F-1's. Mike I would like your opinion if you think these are real Viejita or Mac crossed. The one thing I have noticed is the body shape is completely different between the two, the Viejita [?] is more compressed than the Mac's.

Mike or Frank would know for sure, but that looks like viejita to me. Both the sharp seam on the dorsal fin and the shape of the caudal spot.

Based on only 1 photo that is not ideal for identification? My guess is that it is A. viejita. BTW early in my aquarium keeping days I had an unusual looking wild Krib. I, too, checked the importer about where it was from. They told be it was from Guinea. Dr. Loiselle told me there are no kribs in Guinea. Moral of the story? Not everything one is told is true - especially if it increases the price! Know your fish!

Thank you, I realize that some will lie for profit and I try my best to learn the fish I have from what books I have, the internet and asking questions of people that know way more than me.
