Hello
I’m looking to buy a pair or trio or Apistogramma from a USA hobbyist breeder, either local in South Florida or will pay shipping. Not set on any specific species.
Thanks!
I'm in Tampa. In a few months I should have some F1 Winkelfleck if you're interested. They are approaching 1" now but still not sexable save for a few males.
Winkelfleck is the only species i own where the female will bring her brood to me to feed. 1/2 the species i own the female runs from me when i feed them - so take that with a grain of salt if you end up with them - this is my male when young; he's a year older now; according to Tom's pages there are two colour forms - no clue which one this represents:
Male/Female aggression is modest but does exist. When the female wanted to brood again the male cleared out the area where she broods (i have them in a 48x24); otherwise he lets everyone collect up front where i normally feed them. She had a new brood a few days ago so they are pin head size.
I do have some of these (a. sp bluketa - note that google ai incorrectly associate them with 'steel blue or blue head and are sometime sold as a. borelli; so we can safely assume that ai lacks the i in the a):
I do have a bunch of f1 around 1.5 inches and oddly the f1 are showing more face colouring though not a lot - these are a warm water fish (79-81) and pretty much i believe require blackwater with very low ph for a chance to breed but once settled they do breed easily. I like these a lot more than the a. wolli (who always hide from me) and the winkelfleck but for folks who want a lot of colour these won't do. Anyway i do have a few extra and am located in tn if you want some though i think you would prefer the Drayden Farci's winkelfleck esp if this is your first try. Also being local to you that will make a lot of things easier.
