I LIVE IN LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK AND I AM LOOKING TO PURCHASE SOME DOUBLE RED FEMALES. THE LOCAL PET SHOPS SEEM TO HAVE BEEN OUT OF THEM FOR QUITE SOME TIME. DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANYONE WHO MY SELL THEM PRIVATELY OR PET SHOPS THAT STILL RECEIVE THEM.

Hi Geo,

What kind of double reds are you looking for?
cacatuoides or agassizi?

If you need cacatuoides, you could use triple red females. When my triple red cacatuoides spawned the fry were a mix of double red and triple red.

i am looking for cacatuoides, I had a spawning pair but due to an error on my part the female died. So I am now having difficulty finding a replacement. I was trying to avoid the shipping cost by finding someone local, but it appears I will not have much of a choice. thanks for the info though.

you might try looking at search results here with the query 'new york'. there are lots of results of stores and breeders fairly near to you.
