anyone know the best way to provide kh and gh on reverse osmosis water with a hardness and buffering of nearly 0 and a ph of 6.0 to a 5 dkh and 3 dgh and no more than 7.0 ph

To raise your GH and KH you can either add mineral salts or solutions to raise them or you can mix RO water with your tap water. How much you mix in depends on how hard your tap water is or which remineralising product you use.

Why do you want such specific water parameters? If you're keeping dwarfs then most of them will be happy in softer water with just a few minerals in and, to be honest, I think some use pure RO water too!

Personally I use pure RO water and simply add a little RO right back in which gives me water of 0dKH and 3dGH. If you keep it as simple as possible then your water parameters will be stable (as you'll do the same thing each time as it's easy) and you won't put off water changes because you have to mix it up so carefully! Mixing a bit of tap water back in could be just as easy too.

Hmmm... I just moved the equivalent of this thread to husbandry/breeding. I will move this one and delete the other.

I use Kent Marine products... RO Right for general hardness and Cichlid Buffer (same product as Alkalinity Buffer) for KH. Actual amounts depend upon the volume of RO you are using. THe directions on the package are accurate.

Re-designing and starting a new fish room all over again. This time we'll have many more Apistsogramma species. We are expanding.

Hi,

just in case you happen to live in Germany (or Netherlands): I have a wildcaught female A. psammophila, you could have it for free. I have no use for it anymore.
