I've had the male since Nov 2022 and he was a young adult so i guess he is around 24 to 34 months old:
The female had a recent spawn - 2 or 3 weeks ago. The aquarium is 100 gallons (24x48); there are a few f1s in there of various age and size. She has a 'favorite' spot so when i upgraded the 29 to 100 i put it near the front to give easy access - also of all the brooder's i have she is the only one that will let me put my fingers around her frys as i do sometime to put in dry food - though mostly i use a piquett (sp) to keep em out of the water. The male is a bit more shy but not by much; he has a bit of 'bug' eye which i suppose is likely due to age - but i think he has another 12 to 24 months on the clock as he seems to be in good health. I guess this is the light form but who knows for sure - not me.
