During the last 2 days, my apisto cacatuoides (female at 1.2", male at 2") have been showing some cool behavior.
The female sometimes would stay very still with all fins stretched out in mid water level. sometimes the male will do the same and swim slowly towards her. but while this is all happening very quick, the male chases after the female and the female always swims and hides in the plants. also during this, sometimes the female changes to dark color. im just wondering if this is mating behavior.
btw, what color should my male cacatuoides be? he's an orange flash, but his body is usually brown-dark brown. sometimes, when i do water changes the turns light yellow-brown for few seconds.
