HI...

i have a 46 gallon bow fronttank and in there is 3 females, 1 male apisto cacatuoids, 2 clown plecos and i think 2 otos..

i saw some apistos at the petstore today that looked so nice, i want to put some in my tank, i forgot the name of the fish though.. it was a very nice dark colored fish, man i wish i could remember the name... could some apistos be very aggressive? is it safe to say i CAN add about 3-5 more apistos into this tank without any problems?

here is a pic of my tank i just took..

In my opinion

if you want more apisto's buy more tanks....

The greatest joy is watching female herd their fry....

If you want more fish add some dithers....tetras/ pencil fish...

I tend to agree with Rod. Yes, some apistos are more aggressive than others; atahualpa-group species have this reputation, as do many nijsseni-group species. I don't consider this forum "dead", maybe a bit slow right now but it varies. It is much more active than other similar apisto forums that I go to.

Is my tank full yet

Hey well I have 2x cockatoo dwarf cichlids males 2x female, 2x blue rams, 2x borelii and 2x trifasciata's in a 3ft tank along with about 3 bristle nose and a few pencil fish and Santa claus tetras all are doing fine and seem to get along well my aquarium it's well planted with lots of hidding spots to them I plan to put a few more females in for the borellii, blue ram, and trifasciata. Any suggestions ?? They will only be in their for a short period of time until I set and cycle the new tank were I will seperate the rams and trifasciata. But I have found that they seem to get along just fine even though they are from different catagories regardless to wether my lights are on or off

Hi,

Agree with all of them. Buy more tanks. You might not have problems now with your mix of Apistos in one tank, however when they mature and start breeding some issue might occur. The beauty of the Apsito, apart from their style is the success of breeding and seeing the little fry and the interaction.
The forum is not dead as you stated, however you must be patient. Normally within 24hours you should get some sort of response. I am also in the german ZBBF forum member and there there is also different activity depending on time and dates. We are always here to help you so keep on Apistoing. cheers jk
