I was browsing around last night and I found this site Mikofish.com, he has some incredible videos and pictures of underwater south american habitats. Lots of them dealing with tetra's and other common aquarium species. Especially interesting for here theres a video of a Mikrogeophagus ramirezi ram in its natrual habitat and an Apistogramma guttata

I was wondering if any one could identify these two plants:
plants in the center
plant on lower left cabomba maybe?

Center plant looks like a Blyxa sp but they are not native to Venezuela and the other plant is one of the SA species of Cabomba.
Cool to see the Paracheirodon simulans, aka The Green Neon Tetra.
It took 40 years for our LFS to bring them in but they finally did and I bought 25 of them and 10 Aphyocharx rathbuni, aka Green Fire Tetra or Green Fire Blood Fin Tetra. These two species really complement each others colors. I bought Green Neons four decades ago for the first time when I owned a fish shop.
Still one of my favorite SA Tetras.

Mikofish is a prolific filmer of Venezuelan fishes. In one scene, he scooped up what appeared to be at least 500 otocinclus. Some things he has filmed are interesting shots of a large Crenichla species(Pikes) pair guarding a large number of fry and some scenes of large wild P. altum angels.

Too bad he won't sell the discs individually. I would truly love to see the pikes and the angelfish.

Mikofish has a ton of vids on youtube. Pikes guarding fry, Apistos Altum angels. Just search for the species and location and some of his stuff will turn up.
