Identification reassurance?

I bought a pair of A. ortegai for my first SA cichlids in years. Any ideas whether or not this guy is correctly identified? Male in first two photos and supposed female in last.

The "double caudal spot" of the male fits to A. ortegai. He seems to have quite some deformed scales which can have different causes, e.g. bad water conditions when growing up or being a hybrid of different A. (cf.) ortegai forms. The female doesn't show the typical double caudal spot of A. ortegai, which however, doesn't imply that it's not A. ortegai.
